Your gifts make the difference!
Gifts to the Helen Hayes Hospital Foundation have included artwork, stock, annuities, copyright residuals, retirement benefits and bequest in wills. All gifts are used to perpetuate the hospital’s tradition of excellence.
Unrestricted Gifts enable the Foundation to direct the donor’s contribution to the hospital’s most pressing needs. The Founder’s Fund is an annual appeal designed to facilitate these gifts.
Restricted Gifts can be designated by the donor to a specific clinical program or service at the rehabilitation hospital.
Planned Gifts include naming the Foundation as a beneficiary in a will, trust or other estate or tax plan. Individuals who make a planned gift are eligible for membership in the Helen Hayes Hospital Heritage Society, which gives special recognition for their support. For more information on how you can include the Foundation in your estate planning, call 845-786-4365 or to visit the website click here.
Memorial or Honorary Gifts can be a tribute to a loved one or to recognize an important event, such as a birthday or anniversary. The individual(s) being honored or the family of those being remembered is notified of the generous gift in their names(s) with a specially designed note card. All donation amounts are kept confidential unless otherwise specified.
Matching Gifts provide the donor with a way of increasing their support by having their employer match the gift. Many corporations have matching gift policies, which they encourage their employees to take advantage of. Please check with your human resource representative for details about your company’s policy.
Gifts in Memory or Honor of a Special Occasion
To make a donation in memory or honor of someone, an acknowledgement card will be sent to the individual you designate and we will send you a letter for your records. These could be used for a birthday, an anniversary, a memorial, or just to honor that special person.

The Founders Fund was established to recognize the individuals who were instrumental in the establishment of the hospital in 1900. Gifts to the Founders Fund support programs and special projects that further the mission of the hospital.
Circle of Giving
The Helen Hayes Hospital Foundation Circle of Giving Fountain, a striking blend of granite, stainless steel and ceramic tile, takes center stage in the hospital’s Atrium. The Circle memorializes the generous donations made to the Helen Hayes Hospital Foundation.
The Fountain’s circular shape represents the circle of community that has so generously supported the rehabilitation hospital. Donors’ names are engraved on tinted glass, with inspirational words shining through. The bronze plaques are smallest and represent contributions of $5,000.00 up to $49,999.99. The next level of giving is recognized with larger silver plaques for donations of $50,000 up to $500,000. The gold plaques are largest and represent donations of a $500,000 plus. The Circle of Giving Fountain is a tribute to the many individuals and families who have supported the exceptional work of HHH. These contributions allow the Foundation to promote a wide range of patient programs, equipment and research that otherwise would not be possible. The Foundation welcomes new supporters to join our circle and support the hospital.
